List information
We list sources and addresses commonly found in unwanted mail. We do not block mail.
The listing criteria is as follows:
- SEM-ASN (asn.spameatingmonkey.net)
This zone is used to find the registered owner of an AS Number. The query should only be the AS number and the zone response format is "AS Number | Company | Date registered". Instructions are available on the usage page. This zone must not be used for blocking and is for informational use only! - SEM-ASN-ORIGIN (origin.asn.spameatingmonkey.net)
This zone is used to find the ASN, AS Owner and AS registration date for an IP. The query should be the reversed IP address and the zone response format is "Network | AS Number | Company | Date registered". Instructions are available on the usage page. This zone must not be used for blocking and is for informational use only! - SEM-BACKSCATTER (backscatter.spameatingmonkey.net)
This list contains all IPs that sent mail to a spamtrap address with a NULL sender (<>) over the required threshold. All IPs are automatically expired after 15 days of inactivity. - SEM-BADNETS - Deprecated (badnets.spameatingmonkey.net)
This zone is now empty and should not be used as of February 15, 2010. Manually maintained list of networks known to send unwanted mail. We try to have very few false positives but there is still a moderate risk. - SEM-BLACK (bl.spameatingmonkey.net)
This list contains policy based listings and IPs sending mail to a spamtrap over the required threshold or reported by trusted users as sending a large volume of unwanted mail. IPs are automatically expired after 7 days of inactivity with the exception of policy based listings. The goal of this list is to have zero false positives. - SEM-COUNTRY (<country_code>.country.spameatingmonkey.net)
All IPs for the country specified by <country_code> (ISO 3166-1). This is a geographic list so there is no way to be removed. Be sure of what you are doing if you use this list. - SEM-FRESH (fresh.spameatingmonkey.net)
All domains registered in the last 5 days under the .AERO, .BIZ, .COM, .INFO, .NAME, .NET, .PRO, .SK, .TEL and .US TLDs. Domains are automatically expired after five days when the zone is rebuilt. Removal requests will be ignored. This is a domain only list. Do not query for IPs. - SEM-FRESH10 (fresh10.spameatingmonkey.net)
All domains registered in the last 10 days (including domains found in SEM-FRESH) under the .AERO, .BIZ, .COM, .INFO, .NAME, .NET, .PRO, .SK, .TEL and .US TLDs. Domains are automatically expired after 10 days when the zone is rebuilt. Removal requests will be ignored. This is a domain only list. Do not query for IPs. - SEM-FRESH15 (fresh15.spameatingmonkey.net)
All domains registered in the last 15 days (including domains found in SEM-FRESH and SEM-FRESH10) under the .AERO, .BIZ, .COM, .INFO, .NAME, .NET, .PRO, .SK, .TEL and .US TLDs. Domains are automatically expired after 15 days when the zone is rebuilt. Removal requests will be ignored. This is a domain only list. Do not query for IPs. - SEM-GEOBL (geobl.spameatingmonkey.net)
This zone is primarily for gathering statistics about where connections are coming from. User configurable country and continent blocking is available. See the GeoBL page for information. - SEM-IPV6BL (bl.ipv6.spameatingmonkey.net)
This list contains IPv6 /64s that have sent unwanted mail to our traps over the required threshold in the last 15 days. This list should have very few false positives. Removals requests are accepted but are manually reviewed. - SEM-IXHASH (ixhash.spameatingmonkey.net)
Mail from our spamtraps or reported by users is analyzed and the iXhash for the message is contained in this zone. SpamAssassin has a plugin that fully supports iXhash. - SEM-NETBLACK (netbl.spameatingmonkey.net)
Experimental blacklist containing networks that have been detected as sending unwanted mail. This list may have collateral damage because IPs may be listed that were surrounded by spam sources. Networks automatically resize or expire as IPs expire from SEM-BLACK. (experimental) - SEM-URI (uribl.spameatingmonkey.net)
URIs found a requisite number of times in unwanted messages. Domains automatically expire after 15 days of inactivity. - SEM-URIRED (urired.spameatingmonkey.net)
URI early and preemptive detection list that lists URIs before they appear in the flow of unwanted mail. Domains automatically expire after 30 days of inactivity. This zone also includes all of SEM-URI. - SEM-WHITE
IPs that have a positive reputation and should be considered clean. Addresses automatically expire after 30 days of inactivity. - SEM-ZOMGBL (zomgbl.spameatingmonkey.net)
This zone is guaranteed to block 100% of all unwanted mail with a 100% false positive rate because it lists everything (0.0.0.0/0). This list should never be used in production but exists to verify overall functionality of the blacklist servers.
